Film Screening Wednesday! 9 to 5: The Story of a Movement

YOU'RE INVITED:

January 27, 2020, at 7 - 9 PM ET/ 4 - 6 PM PT Indie Lens Pop-up will show a virtual film screening of 9 to 5: The Story of a Movement. Sponsored by the Coalition of Labor Union Women along with the AFL-CIO, Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor, and many worker organizations.

Based on a true story, a group of secretaries in the early 1970s fought to create changes in their workplaces; those battles led to a nationwide movement that forever changed the American workplace. During this movement, many working women fought for better pay, more advancement opportunities, and an end to sexual harassment for all. We celebrate these pioneering women and continue their work...

The film event will have opening remarks by Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIOLiz Shuler, and director Julia Reichert. A post-screening discussion and Q&A will be moderated by Karen Nussbaum, founding director of 9to5!
